Parlier Won KiteFoil World Title While Mazella Grab The GoldCup Crown

In Cagliari, Italy, the French dominate the KiteFoil Worlds, as Nico Parlier from France takes the title of IKA KiteFoil World Championship whereas Axel Mazella also from France crowned as the champion of the IKA KiteFoil GoldCup.


Nico Parlier of France put on a superior display to grab to win the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) KiteFoil World Championship (KWC) on the final day of the racing on the Italian resort island of Sardinia.

Even just ahead of the last race of the Sardinia Kiteboard Grand Slam (SKGS), haul of bullets of Parlier during the four day competition reflects that he had the championship in his bag because of the superior score he had at the event.

However, after scoring two more bullets to his tally on the flat waters of the Gulf of Angels off Cagliari’s Poetto Beach in the opening two races, Parlier gave the feeling that he would make a perfect hat-trick on the final race day after taking the lead again. Hanuman Leading In America’s Cup J Class

The J Class Regatta in the America’s Cup is almost reaching its climax and the race for the top position in the event is getting hotter.


The Hanuman J class fleet is leading the pack by a whisker. The final day is just around the corner and it will be held at Murray’s Anchorage. It will be a six-part race series.

There is just one point separating the top three J Class fleet. The 42 meter J class Hanuman yacht is in the first position among the seven fleets taking part in the final series of races. Hanuman was built in 1937 and was first christened as Endeavor II. It took part in the ‘Auld Mug’ event that same year.

Hanuman is on a roll at the America’s Cup. It finished day one with the same points of Ranger fleet. Now, it has got to the first position of the leaderboard after winning the final and the last race. Hanuman enjoyed a score of 2-4-1 whereas its archrival Ranger had a final score of 3-2-2. It is going to be a really tough final day. The third position is now with Lionheart with a score of 1-3-4. The irony is that only one point separates the top three. Changes For Youth America’s Cup

Those who follow the America’s Cup series usually finds veterans being skippers and part of teams that comprise of experienced and seasoned professionals.


This series has gained status as one of the revered regatta events across the world. Hence, it is now being extended to include young sailor teams as well. The version meant for young sailors comprise of teams with sailors between the age range of 19 to 25. Known as the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup, this year there have been several changes introduced in this tournament.

The boats that are assigned to the young sailor teams will be AC45F catamarans of the same foiling design as the boats used in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup. There are first time entries in this tournament that include teams from Spain and Austria. Every country team is in the stage of being mentored by older teams of the Louis Vuitton Cup series as well as selecting six member crew for them. The six person roster for each team will be announced by May when the qualification rounds are scheduled. The events will comprise of six boats in two pools which will compete for spots in the finals.

2016 General Meeting Of Australian Sailing

2016 General Meeting of Australian Sailing Ltd held on 29 October. It was the first annual meeting happened under the name of Australian sailing and the second as the company limited.


At the event Matt Allen presented the report to the president. Allen spoke for some 12 minutes and said the year 2016 is incredible for Australian sailing. The organization got its new name Australian Sailing (Earlier it was Australian Yachting) after moving from incorporated association to company limited by guarantee in year 2014.

Allen said “After so many changes in the organization now we are an integrated national administration, we are responsible toward our clubs and their Members and for success of sailing in Australia too.”

On the occasion Allen thanked all bodies present in the meeting and had contributed in upward movement of sailing in Australia. At the moment he also congratulated medalist of Olympic and Paralympic in Rio. He said that Australian players are best on and off the water. They have done wonders in making the country proud. Ruyant Down On Vendee Globe

One of the ongoing races in sailing is the Vendee Globe that is a solo race for skippers across the world.


The current status of the sailing competition is that one of the sailors has got into trouble as his boat collided with a shipping container. This occurred off the coast of New Zealand. There are images on many blogs and forums where the damage done to the boat is visible. Thomas Ruyant is a French sailor who is participating in the around the world race of the Vendee Globe. His boat has run into serious damage as it collided with a shipping container. This occurred off the coast of New Zealand, about several hundred miles in the south direction. The incident took place on Sunday.

The race organizers stated that the skipper was part of the Le Souffle du Nord team. He is okay, but his boat is on the verge of splitting up. Great Sailing Conditions In Rio

Some great sailing conditions have been launched by the Guanabara Bay at the time of launching the Olympic Sailing Competition on 8th August 2016. Still the Rio venue was still highly tricky. After a full-on practice for a few days of practice it saw the teams rehearsing in brisk condition. The launching ramp undergoing emergency repairs after 40 knots battered the Flamengo Beach Area.

Also the rowing on the same waterway has been cancelled the previous day as sunny skies and 10-14 knot winds from the southeast were competing with each other. The two racing fleets opening competition were the Laser and RS: X fleets. While some of the favorite ones romped away towards a dominant start along with faltering badly by others. Clipper 2015 – 16 Race

For those who follow the round the world sailing teams, they will probably know about the Clipper race. The current version of this world sailing event, Clipper 2015-16 includes teams that have departed from Northern Ireland, the port of Derry-Londonderry to get onto the first leg of the journey to Den Helder in Netherlands.

All boats are yet to fight it out for the battle to finish at the final stage.

There are 24 points that are available for the teams. The race to the Netherlands is a crucial one and could be pivotal in the final results. The current leading boat is LMAX Exchange from Derry-Londonderry-Doire which is placed second till now. Fairline Boats warns of job losses

Yacht-builder Fairline Boats have warned of job losses as they fight to keep the whole company afloat. The firm, which has bases at Oundle and Corby, told that it already has started a consultation period with staffs about possible redundancies as it looks to stem financial losses.

The business, which is almost about fifty-two-year-old, has also declared that they are looking for a deal from its creditors for a Company Voluntary Arrangement to serve it repay burdensome debt. This news comes only two weeks following company declared it was laying off 109 of its 465 staff temporarily for 4 weeks.

That action comes a day after the company had been purchased by Wessex Bristol Investments from the Better Capital. The company has issued a statement that read: “Since last month’s acquisition of Fairline Boats Limited, Britain’s leading luxury yacht manufacturer, new owners Wessex Bristol Investments have taken significant steps in moving the company back towards profitability.”

It added that they have already made a recent announcement regarding a workforce restructure that has involved the business entering into a collective consultation period with staff. This would enable Fairline to right-size its performances to better show the marketplace environment, thereby allowing the business to operate in an efficient manner.

The company regretted the fact that this process is expected to result in a significant number of redundancies. They have entered into this process keeping the key stakeholders, namely the creditors and employees in mind in an attempt to safeguard as many British jobs possible.
